I agree with you. They would be furiously spinning just as you said. Still, I think in the end, when it started dawning on people that this wasn’t doofuses crashing a WH dinner, it’s the POTUS, the anger would be unbelievable.
Also maybe it wouldn’t play out the way you’re thinking -— with SCOTUS involvement and all that. I can see scenarios where evidence is uncovered, the SCOTUS says here’s the legal (constitutional) standard, you, Congress, apply it and then we’ll talk. IOW, where the Rats are forced into action earlier in the process.
Just remember, Bill Clinton committed the ultimate act of Sexual Harrassment...the world’s most powerful man having sex with the lowliest subordinate under his command, a 19 year old UNPAID INTERN.
The public should have been OUTRAGED at this, but they were drowned out by a orchestrated Democrat response that their interest was “all about sex”. The Democrats won under seemingly impossible odds by diverting attention from the bad deeds and focusing blame on the accusers.
Don’t underestimate them, this is what they are the absolute best at!
