The Democrats are in a terrible mess, and you can see the trends working against them on an almost daily basis. Everyone in the leadership chain is toxic, with Obama being the worst. I cannot imagine three more years of this, nor can I imagine the Democrats not considering a nuclear option to cleanse their own ranks.
There is only one person who can do this, and that is Bill Clinton. The bad news is that it is not in his interest to do anything to help Obama, but if he takes him down, he risks destroying the party. He cannot assume a visible role, as it might harm his legacy and he might have to live with some gnarly results.
The thinking on this thread is clear...there is no easy escape route for the democrats, they are too heavily invested in the corruption. Again, only an outsider like Clinton could possibly conceive a political solution that might save the party, but even he is facing a huge downside.
The Democrats are in a terrible mess, indeed, and getting rid of “O” publicly is the only way they can save themselves in November. Buyer’s remorse is turning into flopsweat panic. Every week that clown drags this nation further into the insolvency dims their chances most of all. They HAVE to get rid of him—come what may—because the alternative is even worse.
Obama’s unpopularity is not just worsening, it’s worsening exponentially.
Agree on all your points; particularly the toxicity chain/sigh. We have a landfill in the making.
And yes, no question that Clinton's would love political revenge; but am wondering if they have not already been dealt with, before Election. Don't think among these people there is any 'cover'; only political debts and threats. Of course, there are bigger arms in Washington to be hugged by. . . so who knows. . .
And yes, three years, way too long a time, given the threat behind all of Obama's political proclivities. We must work to insure that even an election in 2012 is not by then; no more than a luxury of our thinking.
