i wasn’t approached, canvassed nor received a form. i did in past 3. never filled it in. nothing ever happened. Screw the census

You were VEY smart to not fall for the "here's a number to call us back" scam. Lord only knows who would be on the end of THAT line!

Thanks for posting this, by the way. I'm sure there are lots of folks who are getting similar calls, and might be giving out information, thinking they're talking to someone representing the Census Bureau.

I got that survey with the invasive questions on it, I ripped the cover off, wrote the number of occupants in (and no other info) and mailed it back in...

They sent me the "survey", which is not part of the census, four times now. I will never answer these questions to any government agent. It's been about a month since they sent the last "reminder" postcard. They'll have a long time to wait if the think I will ever cooperate with this intrusion into my privacy.

We keep a land-line only because my husband and I need it for the fax line.

We are almost never called on that line by anyone we know, so we ignore the (very low) rings and only check messages when we think about it.

Junk calls (like the census bureau) can be avoided.

I would have done exactly the same thing. And then I would have contacted the census agency and given them the info about the call, including the fact that she made a veiled threat. Then, I think I would write a letter to my local paper and someone like Bill O’Reilly or Glenn Beck and let them know. (in case this is really just how the govt thinks they can treat they employers).

It has all sorts of questions, about everyone in your home, numbers of bathrooms, how long your commute is, also asks about how much you make, medical conditions, etc. . . .

Census forms aren’t supposed to be in the mail until mid-March according to the frequent radio ads here in MD.

Your first mistake was answering their stupid questions! If I get a census form in the mail, I will state the number “1” and that is all. Nothing in the Constitution allows the government to ask you anything but how many live in your house. Nothing more and nothing less.

If a census worker shows up and ask me anything, they will get a swift kick in the a$$ and sent on their way!!!
