My gut feeling is that it will be schools that will be hit. In several states all within the same time zone, all at once. Suicide attacks, meant to methodically kill as many children as possible until the terrorists are killed. It would fundamentally change our lives because who would trust the schools to protect our children?

While I think AQ is still attempting to use aviation as a weapon...I do believe you are correct with regards to schools being at the top of their list.

There is a precedent for this in the
Beslan school hostage terror just a mere 5 years ago in Russia.
Children and teachers were held hostage by Chechen terrorists. On the third day of the standoff, Russian security forces stormed the building, using tanks, thermobaric rockets, and other heavy weapons. A series of explosions shook the school, followed by a fire which engulfed the building and a chaotic gun battle between the hostage-takers and Russian security forces. Ultimately, at least 334 hostages were killed, including 186 children; hundreds more were injured and many were reported missing.
May God protect America from a horror like this.

It would fundamentally change our lives because who would trust the schools to protect our children? Terrorists would wipe out a school with no armed resistance whatsoever. The Federal Gun-free Safe Schools Act has guaranteed their safety, and don't the terrorists know it. You may be right, it would be only a matter of time before they strike and kill, and no law-abiding citizen can be anywhere near school property with a gun, even to use it in self-defense or to defend another's life is breaking the law. It's a gun-free zone.

The primary reason I chose my children’s school was for its orthodox catholicism. I have to say, though, after what happened at Beslan, the fact it was small and not located in an obvious school building was a definite plus.

I disagree.
Yes, it is an obvious target and quite unguarded, but I think that they know that such an attack would change our war posture in an instant. The retaliation against anything and everyone muslim would be devastating. Even the liberals wouldn’t tolerate attacks on children, after all, everything they do is for the children.
