I'm almost 60 and my Lions never have..........I could live to be as old as Methusela and they never will.
I was pretty sure back in January 1992 that they weren't going to get past Washington in the Lions only NFC title game appearance.

Our Lions last won the NFL championship (pre-AFL, pre-SuperBowl) in 1957; until the 1990s, of the Detroit teams only the Red Wings were worse (1955 I think), but of course, the RWs turned it around bigtime. Not so much this season...
Anyway, I’ll go waaaaay out on a limb and say the Lions will *play* in the Superbowl (as opposed to their usual role, selling snacks up in the stands and sweeping up afterwards) in 2012.
Not by coincidence, the Mayan calendar cycle ends that year.
