White House adviser: Obama has brought 'enormous change' Posted: January 24th, 2010 11:29 AM ET
Washington (CNN) - The White House rejected criticism Sunday that President Barack Obama has not delivered on his promise of "change" during his first year in office.
White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said the president has brought about "enormous change."
"I think what we've seen is a dramatic difference in terms of how the United States is perceived around the world," Jarrett told NBC's "Meet the Press," on the final Sunday before the president's State of the Union address.
Obama's travels have established relationships with world leaders that "lay a foundation for keeping America safe and making us a partner around the world," she added.
Jarrett also credited the president with having "pulled back the economy from the brink of disaster."

It’s true. We are now perceived worldwide as weak to our enemies and unwilling to support our allies. That is enormous change.
To: Sub-Driver
she is absolutely correct. They view us as weak. So yeah she’s right.

Oh I think he is right...... I don't remember having this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach all the time when George Bush was in the WH.
But maybe that is not the change he is referring to.

White House adviser: Obama has brought 'enormous change' Not as "enormous" as the "change" brought about by the Massachusetts special Senate election though. Senator Brown outchanged him.

“Valerie Jarrett”
The WH is scraping the bench to send her out on Sunday morning. She couldn’t convince a dog to come.

Oh, yes, there is "change"! The question is: what kind of change?
George Washington's "Farewell Address" warns citizens of certain dangers to liberty, including that of "Party." Surely, he did not foresee the "
progressives," but his description of a "small, but artful" group which might be a danger to liberty certainly fits them to a 'T'. Here is a small excerpt from that speech. Please note that some sites which contain Washington's Address have omitted these two paragraphs (conveniently?):
"All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.
"However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." - George Washington - "Farewell Address"

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said the president has brought about "enormous change." So does a hurricane...or a tsunami.

the change is that the other nations don’t take us seriously, and they no longer fear us. so now we are MORE open to attack.
that is the change as for hope? our enemies are on the winning list for that one too.
To: ProtectOurFreedom
That is TRUE. It’s Marxist Socialism. He didn’t tell us what it was when he ran, but we should have figured it out. The “hype” was too great and the MSM protected him from truthful criticism.
We’ve seen enough to know WE DON’T LIKE IT. This is NOT the change we want. This is the ONLY CHANGE he knows, believes in and can conscientiously work for.
So what do we do for the next three years?
