Good question, but I don’t think he’s that cunning. He probably asked her because he knows he’s in trouble.

Palin is loyal to McCain, and it’s difficut to say no to a direct request.

She says otherwise; that she wants to help him. I’m dissapointed about that. There’s no other way to sugar coat it. I think that hurts her with Conservatives. She’s still my #1 choice for 2012, though.

In any case, her opponents and the media will spend time second guessing and criticizing this decision, no doubt.

I sincerely hope that Palin isn't going to get attacked every time she does something that doesn't square 100% with people's ideas.

As I have said for over 10 years here, you never get someone who agrees with you on everything. You have to look at the total candidate and make your decision based whether they are the closest match.

Perhaps people might entertain the thought that Palin knows what she's doing.

Personally, I think we need to wait to see what Sarah Palin does or does not do, per McCain, before second guessing her.

I hope this thread does not turn into a Sarah/McCain thing. I’m worn out from dealing with that yesterday.

As to John McCain—the hatred for him on FR is I guess understandable. But there are worse Rinos than John, but none we hate more. Maybe it’s because we had to drag ourselves to the polls to vote for his sorry butt. Maybe it’s because he has the most irritating wife and daughter in politics.

But, whatever, he’s got an R beside his name and I would rather have him than a Dem, but after Mass I give anyone conservative a chance and I won’t rule out JD because of his loss.

It was partly due to a particular mood of the country right then and I do think and hope he has a chance.

What was the scandal that he was accused of? I know it came to nothing but lies but I still wonder.

Well, here I am contributing to the Palin thing I’m sick of, but what is she going to say?

“I can’t stand the old fool and I’d like to take a moose gun to his wimmenfolk, but I’m obligated to a token endorsement.”

Don’t think so. She’s gonna say she wants to help him. What else?
