The former six-term congressman stepped down Friday as host of his conservative talk radio program on a radio station in Phoenix.

"We will formally announce at a later time, but we're moving forward to challenge John McCain," Hayworth told the Associated Press. "I think we all respect John. I think his place in history is secure. But after close to a quarter-century in Washington, it's time for him to come home."

Interesting take. But it would take another 9-11 type event to remind half the sheeple we are really at war.

If the terrorists are smart, they would wait until after ObaMao is re-elected to do something like another 9-11 type attack.

I consider myself very conservative and integrity is an important part of my life.

Would your integrity allow you to publicly endorse a candidate who's positions you did not agree with? Global warming, immigration reform, campaign financing, same sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research are only some of the issues where McCain and Palin are on opposite sides. If you ask 90% of the people on this forum if John McCain is a conservative you'll get a resounding 'No'. So if Palin is campaigning for McCain then she's campaigning for someone who she disagrees with on many, perhaps most issues and telling people she believes he's the best man for the job. Where is the integrity in that?

And now Palin will be telling people that she thinks he's the best person to represent Arizona in the Senate. And should Hayworth win then is she supposed to tell people to support the person she thought was the second-best choice to represent Arizona?

I live in AZ and we will work very hard to re-elect McCain. Hayworth is a self-serving crook and we fought to get rid of him for a reason.

McCain is not perfect, but he’s served our State very well and is an honorable man. Hayworth is not.
