January 22, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com)-Cindy McCain, the wife of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, has joined a campaign supporting same-sex "marriage" by having her picture taken for the campaign's website, and has prompted the senator to issue a clarifying statement reaffirming his opposition to gay "marriage."

In a photo for the group, NOH8, she has "NOH*" written on her face (the letters are a reference to Proposition 8, California's ban on same sex "marriage") and has her mouth covered in silvery duct tape........

I guess the alternative would be to NOT support him. Up till now, he has no competition against him. If Hayworth announces his candidacy and considering the Jay Leno appearance of McCain and what he said or didn’t say about Sarah, she may perhaps have cause to change her mind.

The media would love to have her NOT back McCain. They would paint a picture of her as being the most blah blah blah....etc...

For now, I think she did the right thing...

This is all politics...they are politicians first and foremost and EVERYTHING they do and say is calculated.

I can accept Sarah Palin supporting McCain but I will be watching who she supports in other situations.

Glenn Beck interviewed Sarah the other week and was talking a lot about “trust” and asking “Who can you trust?” very pointedly.

I hope Sarah Palin isn’t being swindled by McCain and the “political machine” that’s trying to install RINO candidates in all the open Senate and House seats.

If she supports McCain and he won’t support her, then she will know what its like to be shafted. McCain has already been buddying with Romney.

I hope McCain loses. Its very important McCain loses because who knows, maybe he is plotting a comeback for president in 2012.

I don’t know how far you go back politically, but I remember the days when Betty Ford ranted about a “woman’s right to choose” as the wife of President Gerald Ford.

Betty came off as a National Organization For Women radical feminist type.

She was also an alcoholic who sought treatment and had the famous clinic named after her.

And now we have the prescription drug abusing Cindy McCain being outspoken on a contentious social issue.

McCain would have been disaster, country would still be going down and GOP would continue (often rightfully so) to be blamed. As it is, we are seeing the naked truth of the far left and it has “awakened the sleeping” silent majority (if they are a majority). We would most likely have health care and everything else that Zero wants also.

Didn’t Cindy also want to go on “Dancing with the Stars”? This is merely Cindy wanting the spotlight. If she was truly passionate about this cause, she would speak out in a dignified fashion, befitting her age and position in life. Instead, she puts duct tape on her mouth. Childish.

Another example of opposing the will of the people. If the American people allow Mccain to win in Arizona as he shifts right while months ago said that we need a more moderate party then we are cooked.

He had his chance and at every turn he chose to reach across the aisle and steal more and more of our liberties. If Palin supports this man I can’t support her I am sorry.

I'm with you on this one; I can also accept Palin supporting McCain in this situation.

The real question in my mind is this: Now that Palin is a "Fox News Contributor", what (if anything) will she do for other conservative candidates? While I like Palin, I have to carefully consider the bigger picture before I'd support her for President in 2012. That race should prove really interesting, especially if the Rats are whacked in this year's elections.

I did not know that about Betty Ford. Knew about her alcholism and of course the clinic but not her ‘leanings’. Midway through Carter’s term was my wake up call.

Both his daughter & his wife? I’m thinking the fruit doesn’t drop far from the Rino tree...no matter what he says.

Former Gov Palin was extremely gracious to the McCain family in her book. A hell of alot more gracious than they deserved considering the treatment she got from his staff (which he most certainly could have stepped in...it's not like it was a secret). Even after, and all the 'heat' was being put on her for one thing or another, McCain's silence was deafening. Her obligation to him is over (imo). There is still time...perhaps she will 'rethink' this and find a way to bow out.

Yet another reason that we’re many times blessed by what God doesn’t give us than by giving us what we “pray for.”

He’s a former television sportscaster who broke into politics with the GOP reformers of the 1990’s getting elected to Congress.

Hayworth lost his seat to a Democrat in 2006. He’s been at odds with McCain over illegal immigration and amnesty.

J.D. is more conservative than McCain. There’s no doubt about that.

Hmmm. To reiterate, I think SP is doing this out of a sense of dignity.

Having said that, I’ll have to start reading up on Hayworth. If he beats McCain, can he win the seat against a generic Rat candidate?

Views from “boots on the ground” welcome.

The only reasons I can think of for Sarah Palin damaging her credibility for him is that either the super wealthy McCains paid her big bucks or they have something on her.

I would not be surprised if Meghan has a ‘coming out’ announcement - after Nov 2010 of course.
