He could have had thousands of new readers checking out his blog. There was a poster 'NewMediaJournal' that incessantly posted articles from there that were actually from other sources, such as the NY Times and the WSJ - but the poster would link back to NewMediaJournal instead of the original source. Pretty shameless way to pimp your blog - with someone else's material.

It is truly ironic to have a guy who claims that Fair Use allows him to post copyright material on his website without permission of the copyright holder to then turn around and threaten FR for having someone post HIS material on FR. This is too precious. If Gannet or the NY Times or WSJ goes after Salvato, he will have just cooked his own goose with this email to Jim.
