PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) A pizza deliveryman was shot and killed during a robbery in the Belmont section of Philadelphia.
Authorities say the victim, who works for Accu Pizza, was shot while making a delivery at 41st and Aspen Streets at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police arrived to find 36-year-old Kouakou Jacques of Upper Darby lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the neck. Jacques was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he died.
Investigators said Jacques responded to a call for pizza, but found the address was a vacant lot where the suspect(s) were hiding out.
"It's very, very unfortunate that you have a hard-working individual that's just trying to make ends meet for his family, who's delivering pizza, and gets robbed and ultimately loses his life," Captain James Clark explained.

Prayers for Kouakou Jacques & his family.
This is just terrible.
this would be the worst way to go ...
The call probably came from a stolen cell phone...a paopular way to lure delivery people in for a robbery. Aint too many phone booths in Philly anymore.
This must be the place where all those spoiled white kids hang out.
Prayers up for the victim's loved ones.
Scum comes in all colors. I worked for a pizza chain where they didn’t want to deliver to certain “white” neighborhoods because their drivers kept getting robbed.
Google maps-
7 blocks and RR Tracks to ....MLK Blvd.
The propaganda of violence and criminal lifestyle is going strong, and it reaches people of all colors and cultures. It is not rare to see a bunch of seemingly white young people in a junk car that is all vibrating from the noise of some awful rap. All that takes is a low enough IQ and desire to "become someone." Many people just won't understand how stupid they were at 20 until they are at 40.
RIP.

Poor guy had a fiance, too. Prayers up.
I have no idea why anyone would deliver in this neighborhood.
I was in a car with 3 frat brothers about 40 years ago on Brown St, one block to the north, and we didn’t like being there in mid-afternoon. Would never go there at night.
