Bill Hudak is running against Tierney in the 6th District.
And while, at least from a pure numbers perspective, Delahunt and Tsongass may appear more vulnerable than Tierney....those are still largely theoretical vulnerabilities.
Give or take a few points, Coakley lost just about as big in Tierney's 6th District as she did in Delahunts. The big difference here is that Tierney already has a viable opposition candidate in place, while the GOP has yet to identify anyone who will try to unseat these others.
Bill Hudak has some money already raised. He had started to assemble his organizationa nd support, back in the summer of 2009.
In fact, back when no one gave him a shot and his campaign was starving for both money and support, Bill Hudak lent Scott Brown a lot of his organization, his district office and office staff for Brown's 6th District efforts, early on.
This is a favor that Brown repaid, yesterday, with his endoresment of Hudak.
So, where does the Globe bury the mention of Hudak and Tierney?

Tierney already has a strong opponent, and his opponent is already running, even if Tierney isn't, yet....and Tierney is already seen as very vulnerable....
Hudak already has an organization that is more than equal to Tierney's, in place.....and in the wake of Brown's win in the 6th District....it is "battle tested".
After a few days of rest, in the wake of Scott Brown's victory (an event that much of Hudak's organization was looking at as a kind of a trial run, to identify strengths and weaknesses )....the "real" campaign begins....
In November, expect a somber John Tierney, his staffers and his supporters to be making comments just like this:

I live in Tierney’s district. I visited Hudak/Brown’s office looking for Brown stuff. There was nothing left,so I took a Hudak sticker. I will be signing on to help Hudak in the near future.
This district has gone Rep. in the past. Torkildson was replaced by Tierney(I forget which year). At least two GOP candidates need to win this year since one seat will be disappearing in 2012.
