No one has ever explained to me why we should thank John MCain for his service. He entered the military under protest because it was family tradition and they wouldn’t allow him to buck it. He resented it and did everything he could to get himself kicked out. But for his father, he would never have lasted.
As a pilot, he was a hotdog and he never changed. He destroyed a couple of planes and a ship, and still they kept him because of his father.
He was hotdogging when he was shot down. He used other people’s captivity stories to glorify himself. When he got home, he divorced his wife and used his POW “hero” status to marry an heiress so he could go into politics.
He proclaimed his own self a hero, just like John Eff’n Kerry, and did virtually the same things Kerry did except testify against his fellow soldiers.
He helped end the search for MIAs in Vietnam. He helped Clinton “normalize” relations with his beloved captors who had murdered hundreds of thousands of their own citizens.
He called his fellow Vietnam Veterans and POWs sleazy, among other things, for daring tell the truth about John Kerry.
There is so much more.
So someone has to explain to me exactly what it is I should be thanking him for because I don’t think he deserves even that.
I was being nice, something I don’t normally do for the old fool.
