Alan Keyes

I can't help but look at Scott Brown's win in Massachusetts in the context of the larger strategy clearly being implemented by the RINO (Republican-In-Name-Only) clique that currently controls the GOP. Sean Hannity is the clique's bellwether media tool. It was no coincidence that he featured Mitt Romney on his program last night to revel in the Scott Brown victory. Scott Brown in Massachusetts is the advance guard for Mitt Romney in the White House (or vice-versa). He becomes the poster child for the RINO clique's archetypal GOP candidate who:

As long as the RINO clique can gull the conservative base of the GOP into identifying with and celebrating the success of such candidates, principled conservatives will never (or very rarely) win elections; conservative policies will never be implemented; and the tragic decline of America's liberty will continue to its inevitably ruinous conclusion.

And your post is grounded in the typical delusion of the purist, malcontent pretending to be a "conservative".

What makes a RINO, Deb? You seem to have your finger on the pulse of conservatism. Either that or you're just twisting my post to fit your own preconceived notions of how people wondering about Scott Brown are the bad guys.

That seems more likely, doesn't it?

Likewise. If you think “conservatism” should be defined by the whims of voters, that’s a “you” problem.

I am not going to engage with you. I find your pontificating arrogant and sadly boring. There is a certain personality in some FR posters that seems myopic and humorless. When I come across them, I move on.

"I am not going to engage with you, other than to tell you that you are arrogant, boring, myopic, and humorless. Now that I've assassinated your character, I move on.

Gotta love blowhards, huh?

Brown is already making robocalls for RINO John McCain, against CONSERVATIVE J.D. Hayworth, in the Arizona GOP primary, one day after being elected.

But we're the insane cuckoos who dare wonder about the new prince of Camelot. I guess I'm going to have to find a new board, because on this place, Scott Brown is how to win elections, and J.D. Hayworth is too far right.

Brown is such an avid opponent of amnesty that he is making robocalls in Arizona to support McAmnesty over CONSERVATIVE J.D. Hayworth.

What's funny about this Brown election is that I can already see it is going to cause a huge divide in the GOP. Perhaps the “Tea” Party is the answer after all, and McCain, Brown, and the other RINOs can continue to get steamrolled by the Dems.

“Likewise. If you think “conservatism” should be defined by the whims of voters, that’s a “you” problem.”

We live in a world that “is” regardless of what any of us think it “should be.”

I said “is” and you twisted that to mean “should be” and then go on to personally claim I have a problem.

What do you gain by calling me names? Or criticizing my view?

I have voted conservative for a long, long time.

I also know that the conservatism of Barry Goldwater (dubbed the father of modern conservatism) is different from the conservatism of Pat Robertson (influential in kindling the religious right); the combination of which was achieved to elect Reagan.

Conservatism is NOT static; the people involved change, the issues, situations, and environment change.

A google search for “political conservatism” yields 971,000 results, so I’m not persuaded you are the sole authority, or that your view is elevated above my own.

I don’t claim to have an elevated view of conservatism. I just think that stating “conservatism” is in part defined as an ideology on the whims of voters missed the mark, big time.

Also, please point out where I called you a name. I did not call you any names, and claiming so is false.

As for criticizing your opinion, isn’t that why sites like FR exist? You apparently feel that voters should shape what conservatism is and will be. I disagree. Big whoop.

Brown is already running cover for the pro-amnesty McCain.

Thanks. Good to know.

So let's get this straight.

A pro-lifer ran against Brown in the primary and won, what, 12 percent?

So that was a non-starter.

And Brown allied with Romney, who was able to win a statewide election in the state in question. Would've been stupid not to.

And McCain helped out Brown as well, and Brown is returning the favor.

It's called political alliances and loyalty (in other words, how you win elections). You and Keyes could learn something hear instead of ramming your heads up your arses, or forming alliances with the likes of grifter Chris Simcox. At the end of the day, health care reform as it was written is dead, the liberal express is derailed, but all you and your worthless buddy Keyes can do is wail that you don't like the guys who accomplished what Keyes could never do - win a statewide race.

So pardon me if I am less than overwhelmed by your sour grapes here. There is a lot to not be happy about with Brown. But there is also plenty that is a solid plus in the battle against the Obamatons, and sane people realize that.

You’re running around calling everybody who disagrees with you insane. But the fact is, what is really crazy is giving your political support to liberals and expecting a conservative result. That’s really nuts.

Do you agree with Scott Brown that his election wasn’t a referendum on Obama?

So in other words, you can’t deal with what I laid out - that your guy is an utter electoral failure and that a pro-lifer ran and won only 12 percent of the vote in the primary, so that didn’t work, either. But Brown won and sandbagged the Obama agenda and in the process has done vastly more for this country than you or Keyes could ever dream of doing.

Actually, I’ve been ignoring your personal attacke on Alan Keyes. They’re irrelevant to the discussion. Ad hominems are no substitute for principled conservative substance, which you’re demonstrating a surprising lack of.

I think the election was more a referendum on the larger transgression of the Dem Party. But beyond that, Brown put a hurtin on the Obama agenda, but you can’t even acknowledge that as a plus, so where do you come off judging what Brown says on this subject? That is rank hypocrisy.

One pro-baby-killing socialist faction’s minuscule gains over another pro-baby-killing socialist faction isn’t something I’m going to help you crow about. Sorry.

They are quite relevant, given he wrote the article you posted, and you and he have a long association.

Ad hominems are no substitute for principled conservative substance, which you’re demonstrating a surprising lack of.

Your principles, as you and Keyes seek to apply them, would lead to complete Dem control of this country, which does vastly more damage to this country. Your hero has NEVER won an election, and at the end of the day, you have to win to accomplish any agenda and give any principles teeth.

In other words, you're too big a moron and too little a person to see what was gained last night, because it wasn't done your way - even though your way (and Keyes' way) hasn't won jack.

Telling. Have a good evening, no point wasting any further time with you.

Keyes jumping off cliffs again?

He has no appreciation nor understanding of the magnitude of the election? - Obama’s presidency dismantled in one fell swoop and all Alan can worry about is who the very irrelevant Hannity has on his show?

Here is my answer: Lincoln Chaffee, Arlen Specter, Susan Collins, etc. etc. etc.
I am not saying his opponent should have won. But I predict that by this time next year the people on this site will be bitchin’ about another RINO that has let us down and we will be wondering why we were all so pleased as punch when he won.
