INDIANAPOLIS -- A bill that would prohibit public access to gun permit information is gaining support in the Legislature.
Indiana law currently allows anyone to access a list of those with gun permits, which can be purchased from Indiana State Police for about $30, said State Rep. Peggy Welch, D-Bloomington.
Welch has authored a bill to keep the information private after she said she received complaints from constituents...

No one should have access to this information.
Exactly. No ones business at all.
All it does is give the bad guys a place to go looking for them for free and you could be penalized or worse if they are stolen.
This is an issue because the Indianapolis Star bought this data and started publishing it in the paper. This is a bill that deserves the support of all Hoosiers.
Why don’t we spend 30 bucks and get every politicians financial reports. Gee ... we could have founad Coakley’s 200,000 dollars in savings that she forgot all about.
