Symbolism: This is where JFK gave his nomination acceptance speech for his 1952 run for the Senate. There is a suite there where he stayed that was revered by the Kennedy clan -- was often reserved for big Dem donors when they were in town (a Dems Lincoln bedroom equivalent).
The hotel was owned by the Kennedy family for years. Didn't stop the annual Rally for God Family and Country which convened there from 1965-1974, which were sponsored by the John Birch Society.
