Gov. Ed Rendell, Channel 11 has learned, was one of those on the flight from Pittsburgh International Airport to bring back dozens of orphans from the BRESMA orphanage in Haiti. Two sisters from Ben Avon run the orphanage and their story is making national headlines

This is so bad. Since the story broke I have been telling people they were being lied to and Obama has big plans for this. I have been attacked here like Rush has been attacked. Send aid, keep them there.
Supposedly all of today a flet of C-17s are flying Haitians into 4 aiports in FL. Say anything bad about it and you are heartless and a racist.
“While both airlifts and new adoptions are based on valid concerns and come from an obviously loving heart, neither option is considered viable by any credible child welfare organisation,” said the Joint Council on International Children’s Services, a US advocacy group. “Bringing children into the US either by airlift or new adoption during a time of national emergency can open the door for fraud, abuse and trafficking.”
The number of orphaned children in Haiti already stood at around 380,000 before last weekend’s disaster. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/adoption-agencies-warned-off-haitis-orphans-1871972.html
It’s a wonder Fast Eddy doesn’t charge them per head to get off the plane. Soon he’ll be taxing adoptive parents for adopting.
Maybe the Haitians will eat Rendell.
That Fat Pig Fast Eddy should not be allowed on that plane.
The lying crook should be in jail. Think of all the diapers and formula that could go if his fat ass was not on the plane. He is perhaps the biggest and phoniest person I have ever seen. Regrettably, I live in Pa, where this fat pig wondered around handing out (get me reelected checks) for years.
Other than that I have no opinion.
Regarding Ed Rendell: I guess this is proof that there is some good in everyone.
They should have paperwork stateside so they’re ok. And you’re right - these kids, and hundreds others, are in process or already legally adopted by American families.
Anyway, I'm keeping the Haitains and their rescuers in my prayers.
I’m so happy these children are being brought here to good homes.
This is very reminiscent of the fall of Saigon, and the orphan planes leaving there with hundreds of children, later to be adopted and to grow up here to become exemplary citizens.
And there were the same gripers and grouches writing letters to the editor and calling their congressmen to keep these children from growing up in a safe place.
Some things never change.
Good as in "good photo op."
He doesn’t need any photo ops. He’s a lame duck gov now and cannot run for another term.
Not gonna happen. They are waaay too self centered.
A friend of mine is mom to one of those kids in process. Hopefully their son will be coming here sometime this week.
From what I understand, the kids they are bringing were well into the adoption process and would have been here in a few days or weeks without the earthquake. The adoptive parents had been to Haiti, visited the kids and "bonded" with them. They had everything ready for their arrival when the quake struck. The only delay was moving the paperwork through the bureaucracy.
This is not a deal of picking kids off the street. They were orphans before the quake. The American families had already gone through all the significant expense of screening as well as mental anguish of trying to adopt children in desperate need and bring them to the US.
I have seen a number of friends and even family members go through this process and they become bonded to those children months (sometimes many months) before the bureaucrats ever allow those poor babies to get to our shores. I can't imagine the anguish they have gone through in the last week over those poor children with the earthquake.
As far as Fat Eddie, screw him... I doubt he cares. He's just looking for some PR for his next gig, which with his current approval rating will never be elected office in the State of Pennsylvania.
Blessing to the adopting families. They deserve the credit. Not that media whore.
