Actually, this is a good move.
The more presence the religious right has, the better. We can’t just give up on once-conservative institutions because the anti-religious hordes come on in. We have to put up a fight, or we’ll fall into the trap of taking the path of least resistance.
CPAC is mostly Washington insiders and some donors who think that the insiders actually represent somebody. The best way to bring them to heel is not to participate so that it is plain that CPAC’s leadership has no constituency. This is yet another stupid decision by Focus.
