Just how big are the stakes in the Massachusetts Senate race? Independent and party groups were set to spend nearly $5 million on television ads in the final weeks leading up to Tuesday's special election between state Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) and state Sen. Scott Brown (R).
According to ad-buy information provided to the Fix, there are 13 -- yes, 13 -- groups paying for ads in the race's final days, with Democratic groups outspending Republican-aligned by more than $1 million.
Coakley's ad advantage comes from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which is set to spend $1.4 million on ads in the final week of the race -- a staggering sum given the overwhelming Democratic tilt of the Bay State, and yet another sign of how worried the party is. (The National Republican Senatorial Committee is not running ads in the state.)

I say GOOD. P*ss it all away boys. The more you spend trying to revive the Coakley corpse the less you’ll have to harass us later.
If you can, send a little more electronic support to Brown. This may not be over tomorrow, democrats being democrats. Remember Franken? (Sen. Franken, that is.)

To use Rush’s wisdom on giving ... a dollar given to any of the Republican national committees is wasted; give it locally where it will actually do some good.
I think this is misleading because the NRSC may not be running ads (wisely laying low) but may be funneling those $$$ to Brown to run ads.
And I think that at this point, even a "close" for Brown will be good enough to send some of the more mushy Dems (and RINOs) scuttling for cover.
So, IMHO, the Dems are flushing their cash. Great!
OTOH, we're talking about John Cornyn here. Good legal mind but not the sharpest tack when it comes to political judgments (read: Charlie Crist).
Sorry, NRSC scum. Brown’s gonna win anyway. Ha-ha.
This is like studying for a final the night before. It won’t work. I hope they continue to dump money into this race because they are wasting their money.
Tuesday night will be a very good night for Brown and one of the worst nights the Dems have ever had.
Easy enough tyo counter. Brown not only has the statewide media swarming for interviews, he has the national media swarming him, heck he has the International Press outside his location in the scrum as well. All he has to do is walk out on his stoop, or into the lobby or sit up on his truck, and anything he says, will be slashed all over the worldwide news!....For free! He can come to a podium any time he wants in the next 36 hours and go “Nationwide”.
Clear evidence that I should NEVER send the GOP/RNC a penny.

The Dems are collectivists. They’ll send their money to the DSCC and the DNC.
We are individualists. I gave up on the party long ago, and will only donate to the candidate themselves.
