You may not believe this, but the Haitians have been doing a lot for themselves since the quake struck. However, much of their government was wiped out, hospitals and clinics in Port au Prince were destroyed, the economy and jobs were destroyed, their homes were destroyed. Roads and communications wrecked.

They've been digging with their bare hands to rescue people, they've self-organized in camps, they've collected and buried tens of thousands of dead, they're tending to children in orphanages.

To post that they're "wont help themselves and are standing around waiting for others to help them" is not accurate at all.

I saw all the coverage for the first 2 days, nothing but people wondering around in the street.

I maybe saw ONE family actually trying to dig out their relative.

If this had happened anywhere in America (outside of an inner city, or hell hole like New Orleans), thousands of Americans would of been digging through the rubble within minutes of the first shock.
