Amid the rash of appeals for Haiti donations has come a call from one of the most prominent voices on the American right for people to hang on to their cash because Barack Obama might steal it.
Rush Limbaugh, the most popular radio talkshow host, who is sometimes described as the real leader of the Republican party, says Americans should not give a penny to a population struggling for survival after the earthquake.
Limbaugh agreed with a caller suspicious that the White House website was being used to direct funds to the American Red Cross. "Would you trust the money's gonna go to Haiti?" the caller asked. Limbaugh then said Obama was exploiting the disaster for political ends.
"This [the earthquake] will play right into Obama's hands," said Limbaugh. "He's humanitarian, compassionate. They'll use this to burnish their, shall we say, credibility with the black community both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. This is made to order for them."
Limbaugh also warned Americans against donating money. "Besides, we've already donated to Haiti. It's called the US income tax," he said.

RED .... if FR is your ONLY SOURCE for news... I pity your Stupidity.
Haiti is A RATHOLE ... and with their 2nd national religion being VOODOO, Would not surprise me if they DID MAKE some sort of DEAL with the DEVIL.
If you’d rather Believe the GUARDIAN that those of us who ACTUALLY HEARD what RUSH SAID, GO sign on to KOS .. you might feel more at home there.
“Besides, we’ve already donated to Haiti. It’s called the US income tax,” he said.
Doesn’t sound like he is asking listeners to donate from that.

Sir, I get soooo tired of people who critize Limbaugh but never seem to LISTEN to the man’s program. He spent HOURS (in my count two) blasting this current media smear and telling his listening auidence what he truly thought about chairty for Haiti etc....
That you refuse to listen above what others contribute to him; or choose to listen to a partial transcript and then react as if it is the whole story, shows a shallow, small mindedness.
Why bother with independent news sources if smashing Mr. Limbaugh is your objective? Seems to me it’s too time consuming when you could so simplify your rightous indignation with one source. Just do what my own father does and watch Keith Olberman.
Wow Alex!
I haven’t seen you in a while. Maybe I’ve just missed your posts but it’s good to see you again.
It is common, historical belief that this ceremony did take place and Haiti has been a hell hole ever since. You can argue that Haiti's situation is a result of incompetency and human evil rather than any supernatural event but you can't ignore what is there.
BTW Robertson is not my cup of tea but I believe that he is a good and sincere man. He and his mission have been on the ground in Haiti and elsewhere for years and I have no doubt that they have done far more good than the UN.
“I havent seen you in a while. Maybe Ive just missed your posts but its good to see you again.”
Oh, not to worry.
I am here EVERY day.
Nice to hear from you :)
That’s the newspaper who advocated for English people to come here to help get out the vote for - I think - Kerry.
We all need to be aware of this tact the left is now putting into high gear. This is a war for our republic FRiends and we had better be prepared to call these people out the instant they surface.
Sarah has people to keep her site safe from this stuff and it was the alert actions by which someone from C4P just alerted us before this crap came sailing along. This site is just as caustic to the left as is Rush and Sarah.
I have some trouble with accepting the ignorance of the original poster because it is one of the plays they employ to keep themselves “in the fold” only to do it again and hope that nobody remembers who they were the time before.
If he is truely ignorant then let him go somewhee else to get his teething pains soothed by someplace else but I still don’t buy it because of his lame excuses and continued retort.
He said that the media would twist it around to say that HE (Rush) made the "light skinned negro" comment instead of Harry Reid, the same way they did when he commented on Obama The Magic Negro which was written about originally by a homosexual black man David Ehrenstein who writes for the LA Times.
Rush recognizes (and correctly in my opinion) that if he stops telling it as he sees it and tailors his commentary so that he doesn't say anything that can be misconstrued or taken out of context, he is finished.
I respect him for that. So he just says what he thinks and lets the chips fall where they may.
Did you even read his post #1?
He has a lOT to apolgize for.
I guess you don’t hang out much on the MI threads.
XD
Conservative?
Ignorant.
I use FR as my jumping off point for news.
I have found that nearly everything of note makes it into a thread (and quickly at that) and a lot of Freepers provide good background on things I may know nothing about. When I can provide expertise, I do so.
Now, it isn’t my ONLY source...but I have found folks here are pretty reliable, and if someone misrepresents a story, it is exposed pretty quickly by other Freepers.
That is why this is one of the few websites I pay money to frequent.
The Guardian is a snot rag... nothing of value or of truth in it...
That was exactly the point...are you truly not getting it or is this some kind of a game you are playing?
Yes, Rush said we shouldn’t trust the Haitian government to use any funds honestly. And guess what? A Haitian actor who plays on “Heroes” said the same thing. He said the government is corrupt and shouldn’t be trusted with money! And this comes from Jeraldo’s show, and he doesn’t like Rush either!
Doesn't sound like he is asking listeners to donate from that.
Doesn't sound like YOU actually bothered listening to the show, or bothered with reading the transcripts. In this case, the "we" to which Rush was referring was the US government. Rush said that donations through the government wasn't to be trusted, but to donate through private organizations.
I'll bet you believe Martha Croakly's flier that stated Scott Brown tried to pass a law that prohibited rape victims from being treated at hospitals too.
Mark
No, but since you don't listen to Rush, yet give credence to what his enemies state without looking into the facts, you're a fool. Or as Lenin or Stalin would call you, a "useful idiot."
Mark
>> I know this may be blasphemy
That’s okay. It’s not blasphemy, it’s falacy.
Not at all.
It shows that by depending on the media to tell you what he said, you are a fool.
