We went through this a year ago, didn’t we? It was scary then. It’s scary now. The Yellowstone Caldera is a sleeping monster. And from what I remember from last year it’s overdue for a major eruption.
What would constitute something “out of the ordinary” -— and were it to occur, wouldn’t the Internet go wild with the news?

Yup, but what is the fun in having a calm reasoned approach to this? Its a LOT more fun to create a panic on wild speculation.
The worst earthquake disaster that had a reasonable chance of happening in our lifetimes is a magnitude ~ 9 or so earthquake on the Himalayan Thrust; that would likely see over a million killed in Northern India.
Istanbul is probably in greater overall danger than Mexico City, as is Tokyo and Manila, off the top of my head.

There is a tendency after an event like Haiti and the various programs documenting the Yellowstone supervolcano for people to freak out for lack of knowledge surrounding the seismic activity there. You post is entirely lacking on the seismic history and whether or not these quakes were significant. If it were your point that these are ‘fun to watch’ you should have made it clear at the get go. As a geologist and a Montanan I see too much knee jerk reactions about Yellowstone as there is.
It's people accessing geological data without enough geological knowledge to put it into context; one of the hazards of so much great realtime, raw data being available on the internet.
This is nothing compared to the massive Long Valley Caldera earthquake swarms and the general panic on USEnet back in the 1990s; there were hordes of people convinced it was going to blow and the USGS was covering it up, etc.
Now I have experienced both. I live 15 miles from epicenter. It jolted me in bed, I heard a loud boom and the windows rattled. It reminded me of the OKC bombing. Oddly, I slept through the 4.0 at 9:18 but was awakened by the 3.8 at 9:27. Somehow, I knew it was an earthquake. I lived in Moore in May ‘99 and survived the direct hit of F5. (God is great)

If you note the terminology “small seismic activity” well I did not think that to be too much of a chicken little approach.
It’s a miracle, nobody has come onto this thread yet and declared it’s a sign of the end times.
Camped in the Park a few days before the 1959 quake which impacted the Madison River.
Visited again and stayed in the same campground, along the rerouted Madison River (near West Entrance).
Depends upon type of job and location. MT is very susceptible to economic swings. She should also be ready for snow and COLD. Natives know how to play in the winter - immigrants are often challenged. MT is a land of wonders year round.
