I wasn't raised around Russian refugees. But later in life, I was around and worked with many who had fled the Iron Curtain - in tunnels, hidden compartments, and over barbed wire. They saw this coming then - that was in the late 70s - I frequently heard (because of what the Feds and the lefties were doing to us and our profession as commercial salmon fishermen): “This is no different from what I left,” they would say - a few even went to Federal Prison for the crime of fishing.

There are few here who would do what they did to flee the Communists, nor go to prison for loving and practicing their profession.

Too many like you said think Communism is a fairy tale - but ironically, fear the Nazis and sympathize with the hapless 1940s Russians invaded by the evil Nazis. Products of public schools, who's idea of war is Iraq. They have no frame of reference.

BTW: there will be a documentary movie on The Frozen Chosin upcoming in a few weeks told by the Marines who were there. (I knew two of those guys - both gone now). It's made by two Marine captains who served in Iraq dedicated to their heroes - the Marines at the Chosin River. Thre is a web site, but I don't know when or how it will appear

Good point.
Worse - when people older than their 40s on up die, no one will have a living memory of what it was like before Obama's Fabian Socialist Orwellian New World Order slave state. Before the computerized surveillance, etc.
