"The people are working VERY HARD to rescue those who are trapped and to assist any way they can. This is the opposite of New Orlean’s reaction at Katrina."

I would like to point out to you that before the Coast Guard and other 'authorities' arrived to rescue folks, there were literally hundreds of citizens and Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries folks, using boats and whatever else that they could to render assistance and evacuate those that were flooded. They too worked VERY HARD, as you say.

I’ll give you that. I was (rather poorly) referring to civilian victims pitching in to help.

Just seconding your recognition of the Coast Guard efforts in Katrina.

The Coast Guard flew more rescue sorties and aerial rescued more people than any other disaster in US history.
