Roger Ailes Is The Real Head Of The GOP
Howard Fineman Newsweek Published Jan 15, 2010
I've been trying to answer this question: does the Republican Party have a "leader"? Surely it's not Michael Steele, the loose-lipped chairman of the RNC. Not Mitch McConnell, the funereal Kentuckian who heads the Senate's rejectionist GOP minority. Not Sen. John McCain; he's too busy watching his own right flank back home in Arizona. And certainly not the Bushes, elder and younger, hunkered down in Texas. As for the 2012 wannabes, none gets more than a fifth of the GOP vote in the early polls.
But I finally found my answer while I was watching Fox News Channel. Last Wednesday, the other news outlets were engaged in wall-to-wall, on-the-ground coverage of the horrific earthquake in Haiti. FNC, meanwhile, featured an hourlong Glenn Beck sit-down with Sarah Palin, Fox's newest "analyst," and wall-to-wall, on-the-ground coverage of the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts, where a Republican, Scott Brown, seemed to be closing in fast on what was once Ted Kennedy's seat. "All eyes are on the Senate race in Massachusetts!" said Sean Hannity, who did his best to make it seem as though he believed it.
Politics, like nature, abhors a vacuumwhich is why God created Roger Ailes. The president of Fox News is, by default, the closest thing there is to a kingmaker in Anti-Obama America. And that, in turn, makes him the de facto leader of the GOP. In a relentless (and spectacularly successful) hunt for cable ratings, Ailes has given invaluable publicity to the tea partiers, furnished tryout platforms to GOP candidates, and trained a fire hose of populist anger at the president and his allies in Congress.

Hmmm ... just about the entire MSM is in the tank for the Dems, but let Fox News present both sides of the story and Fox is a GOP outlet. News flash, Fineman - unlike your cohorts in the MSM, Ailes is out to make money - and Palin brought in over a million additional viewers over two her first two nights - whereas you will ride your liberal bias all the way to Newsweaks’ bankruptcy...
Better Ailes than Steele.
This shows the servile attitude of the lefties. Why do they think everyone needs a leader? Don’t know what to do unless someone tells you?
Conservatives are bound by common principle, not by what a “leader” tells us to do.
Any statement by the left about the “leader” of conservatism or the “leader” of the Republican party—or any attempt to create a conflict of egos between Roger Ailes and other prominent personalities—is nothing more than an attack on leadership by We the People and an attempt to ensure the decline of liberty.
They are scared. Disturbed, upset and surprised. It wasn't supposed to be this way. The GOP was supposed to go belly up and let the Obama regime rule with supreme power. America was supposed to bare its throat for the new socialist order.
Instead, those pesky Americans have refused to back down and accept their new masters quietly. The howard finemans of the world, who expected to be favored guests at the Court of The One, will still have to work for a living after all, and they are NOT pleased with this turn of events.
They’ve been saying conservatives have no leader, the tea party movement has no leader, ad nauseum.
But did you also notice, Mr. Fineman, conservatism isn’t doing too bad lately?
It’s simple. Conservatism is the American way. Leadership by the people.
“All eyes are on the Senate race in Massachusetts!” said Sean Hannity, who did his best to make it seem as though he believed it.”
That’s right Mr. Fineman, just put your head in the sand, nothing to see here folks.
the MSM (newsweak et al) like common dung beetles....wander aimlessly, head in the sand....moving backward...while pushing their crap and hoping it sticks to something.....
Fineman must have stopped taking his meds.
His articles of late are downright bizarre.

Already posted, too stupid an essay to really deserve posting again.
THAT'S RACIST!!! (-:
Perfect statement on the level of the msm.
I read “The Week”. Excellent magazine.
“Fineman is an MSNBC hack. He works for newsweek who calls Obama god. His words are a waste of time to read.”
It does my heart good to see a left wing news hack having a hissy fit and making disparaging remarks.
Hey, Howie....you and your dysfunctional left wing nuts are going down, boy. Maybe you should retire. Angry people die young, you know.......
I like Roger Ailes...
Ol' Foghorn would make a better president than Obama, for example!
“Seriously, when was the last time you even saw a copy of Newsweek?
Which reminds me, I’ve got to make a dentist appointment.”
Exactly!
“the MSM (newsweak et al) like common dung beetles...”
Quite apt analogy!
