It doesn’t matter really. The damage has been done. Obama’s promises are catching up with him. Just think the next on his agenda is Immigration reform. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. Can you imagine him delaying Cap and Trade further? Yet can you imagine him not? Obama has managed to artfully get himself into a place where he is smack dab in the middle of a vice with one side, his base, and the other, the rest of us. He is managing to alienate and invigorate his opposition and frustrate his base. He is turning indpendents into die hard conservatives. He is throwing fuel on the Tea Party movement that is not simply a flash in the pan. It is something that is appealing to independents and is offerring a bridge straight into the Republican party. Truthfully the Republican party is slowly being fully transformed by it. This isn’t the old George Bush pansey (ie compassionate conservatism) it is a hard edged liberty driven sovereign citizen driven perspective. While Clinton managed to invigorate his opposition. Obama is doing him one better, he has managed to fuel and idelogical shift turning wishy washy apolitical types into die hard believers in founding principles. He isn’t doing it alone but what he has done has been to prove his detractors correct. They said he was a liberal socialist and what is he doing? Behaving just like one. He hasn’t changed one thing in Washington from President Bush but make things hundreds of times worse. He spends more, he is growing government more. Down the line he is a disaster and to boot he is a disaster with a tin ear and an unbelievable ego. I don’t believe he even understands the seriousness of what is happenning on the ground.
Good points!
He's an incredibly lousy politician, isn't he? I continually wonder at how he got so far with such poor political skills. Perhaps it's because he never had to be publicly accountable in other positions like he is in the Presidency.
Good input.
