Note the shadows on the other two individuals. The folds of their shirts create shadows on their shirts. Obama dude has no shadows. Also note the perspective of the size of Obama Dude as compared to the the other two. Also note that all are in focus. A photo of Obama Dude that shows him that much larger would not be in focus for the other two persons in the shot.

Photo-shoped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haiti earthquake

(Carolyn Cole / Los Angeles Times / January 15, 2010) A man taking part in the looting of a downtown Port-au-Prince store wears an Obama T-shirt.

I do not know how much clearer I can make this for you. The caption of the photo was "(Carolyn Cole / Los Angeles Times / January 15, 2010) A man taking part in the looting of a downtown Port-au-Prince store wears an Obama T-shirt. "

I am not making this up.

Seriesly!

First of all, I am prepared so I don’t have to loot or scrounge. Secondly, I work WITH friends and neighbors to provide security for ourselves and others. Then I work with them to assign priorities for the sharing of whatever supplies we all have. If no one wants to do that I walk out and keep on walking. I can live off of the land here, by myself, just fine. Those who want to go rogue had better like the taste of hot lead.

These guys don’t look desperate, so I am *NOT* defending them, but I’ll tell you one thing:

If I thought my kid needed food to survive, I might “loot” CD players, cell phones, or anything else I thought I could trade for food. I honestly don’t know.

That was exactly the picture I meant.

SO, would you guess SURVIVOR or LOOTER?

Precisely. You’re in Colorado. What you’re seeing in Haiti is very different from what you’re ever going to experience out there. I was asking you to consider the conditions in Haiti, not Colorado.

I quote: “[See Pic #7: Looter with Obama T-shirt]”
That comment was not made by the LA Times.

It's photo #8 anyway.

That would be an attempted survivor. No Ipods, no useless video games.

Just some milk to give to all children and all in need.

The numbered link to that particular pic will continue to get higher as more photos are added to their pictorial essay with the curious/salacious captions.

If it's food and water, they should give it away. If it is not, then you have a point.

Really? And keep none for themselves? I'd like to decide how to distribute my property not be told to give it up or die.

The real issue is that we don't really know what it's like in Haiti, and the reporter may or may not be telling the truth.

One of the stories I saw had the shop owner right there confirming what was being said. He built up a small street stand into three separate stores in one building. None any big deal by our standards. Collapsed now. He and his father were staying under the remains with other family to protect what was left. I saw no reason not to believe the story. I could see his stores, the man seemed humble in his demeanor and the reporter was not making it a sob story beyond what it obviously was.

I might note that of all the reporters who are currently in Haiti (clogging the airports with their private jets), not a one of them has a speck of dust or blood on their clothes.

Bill Hemmer and Grif Jenkins looked absolutely filthy and exhausted the last time I saw one of their reports. They are not there to pick up bodies or distribute goods. Getting this story out is worth a lot more than their two pairs of hands.

. But the LA Times is not the source for the comment, "[See Pic #7: Looter With Obama T-Shirt]."

The LA TIMES reporter is the source for the information, which included mention of the OBAMA t-shirt and the wearer being a looter.

You are trying to criticize JET JAGUAR for NOTING what was already NOTED by the REPORTER.

Just some milk to give to all children and all in need.

Even if it was for himself, I still vote survivor.

But, I wasn't there, and I think one would have to be, to be sure.

"...you violently burn down buildings, kill people..."

I believe that is called "rioting".

Looting involves taking things which are not yours, whether you burn buildings down or murder or not.

In this situation these people are trying to survive, and I would bear no ill toward those who are doing so in a nonviolent manner, and who are not seeking to profit from the taking of what they needed to survive, even if I owned it, given the destruction endemic in the area.

But then, I believe I would be rewarded either in this life or the next.

(For so as you do for the least of these, you have done for me.)

I am where I am by choice not by accident. I would act the same if I were in Haiti. The place I occupy might change but I don’t.

Between the LATimes and CNN there seems to be subtle indication that the response in Haiti is no different and probably worse in Haiti than New Orleans during Katrina.

I smell disenchantment in the msm.

If I thought my kid needed food to survive, I might....I honestly don’t know.

I think you should win an award (among several others) for some real honesty.

Until we are in a situation, none of us knows what we might do to survive, to protect our loved ones.

The LA Times photographer did not view such fantastic destruction and focus, instead, on a political statement.

Yes, the reporter/photographer did.

HERE IS THE EXACT QUOTE FROM THE LATIMES

Haiti earthquake (Carolyn Cole / Los Angeles Times / January 15, 2010) A man taking part in the looting of a downtown Port-au-Prince store wears an Obama T-shirt.
