Haiti needs a huge dose of Christ and real secular freedom.
In 2003 Aristide declared voodoo the official religion, of which Aristide is a voodoo priest, though some have argued that is not the case, research will show otherwise on both of these issues.
The high priest..stated...”Everything we do in Haiti is guided by voodoo, our actions our thoughts, everything.” The man who spoke this was not uneducated..it is a way of life for them, As in Africa, from where it came to their shores.
This was an interview seen on you tube, but I can't recall the title...When he was asked how the people could afford voodoo his response was. “If they don't have enough money for voodoo we apply voodoo so they can get money.”
We can surely help the people, but little will change there in the minds of the people. I've hear travelers who have stated they left because you can get pulled into the darkness of voodoo..it is everywhere.
The media doesn't get it when they show people with out stretched arms to heaven, that they are calling on the spirits they worship..sometimes if you look closely you'll see another with their hand on someones head trying to heal the person with voodoo.
