The Shot Heard Round the World… Scott Brown & Rudy Campaign in Boston (Video)
Gateway Pundit ^ | 1-15-10 | Jim Hoft

In 1837 Ralph Waldo Emerson penned the “Concord Hymn” that described the impact of the battle at Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1775. The words “the shot heard round the world” are meant to emphasize that a critical event happened at this location that triggered something of global importance.

“By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled; Here once the embattled farmers stood, And fired the shot heard ’round the world.”

This week another shot was heard around the world.

Scott Brown and the citizens of Massachusetts let the world know that The People have had enough of the politics of destruction, entitlement, blame and corruption coming from Washington DC.

Scott Brown released this terrific video today of his walk through Boston with Rudy Giuliani. It was a beautiful day in historic Boston:

During the walk in Boston one of Brown’s supporters said, “This is the shot heard round the world.”

Yes it is.

Another reader wrote today asking, “Are we witnessing the New Paul Revere?”

It’s historic, that’s for sure.

On January 19th, a special election will be held to fill a Senate seat that has been controlled by the Kennedy family since 1953. Leaving the individual politics of the candidates aside, there is very much more at stake here than simply who will be the new Jr. Senator from Massachusetts. The political future of the nation could be at stake.

It is currently a foregone conclusion that the seat will remain Democrat. But what if it doesn’t? What if the unthinkable happens, and a Republican actually wins the Kennedy heirloom? That would not only make national news, it would make international news. The headline writes itself: “Massachusetts voters fire second shot heard ‘round the world!”

Brown voted for RomneyCare and he's an abortion proponent. No conservative should be voting for big government statists like Brown. Come on, guys.

However, the true importance of this election lies in the effect it would have on voters in 2010. Talk about energizing the base. The momentum that a GOP victory in Massachusetts would cause would be unstoppable. People would actually believe that that the Republicans can win in 2010, and win big. The Obama Administration would be dead in its tracks, and liberals would be wandering around dazed and confused (I mean more so than they already do).

Too many Massachusetts Republicans and conservatives have felt helpless for far too long, and this is the first opportunity in well over 50 years to change that. So get out and hold signs, email, blog, and do whatever you can to bring about a GOP victory. January 19th could be the first battle in a second American Revolution, and once again, victory could rest in the hands of a few Massachusetts patriots. We won before, and we can do it again.

He's been showing up on one Brown thread after another

You know, I've noticed that and started taking note on that. He's not the only one. There are about two more like him around. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for these guys, see if there is a pattern.

How on earth did Kennedy keep winning in that State?

The Republicans probably had its best chance to knock off Teddy in 1970, right after Chappaquiddick. However, the GOP chose as its standard bearer Josiah Spaulding, whose views were almost identical to Kennedy's, so the voters didn't have much of a choice. Teddy also benefited from the fact that 1970 was a "democratic year" due to a sour economy and other factors.

That's the attitude that got us into this mess....”TRUE” conservatives stayed home, didn't vote if the candidate didn't meet THEIR requirements....so what have we gotten. Obama his goons and two branches on congress that are destroying this country....Thanks a lot.

There is a pattern. Change the subject, straw man arguments. There were some fine articles of the professional sourcing of these posts a few years back. The Soviets included...

At a minimum, he should change to Reagan Democrat.

I think the Reagan Democrats are coming home. Remember, Reagan carried the Bay State in two presidential elections.

You’re probably right. The liberals, the harpies, the moderates and the malcontent trolls like YOU who infest FR, will never buy into the pro-life, limited govt conservatism this forum is all about.

There is a pattern. Excellent thread spelling out the technique. Obama is actually paying staff to come to sites and do the dirty work. We have democrats who have been part of it explaining in great detail how it is done....One of the above have the threads describing the methods.

Truth is, Bush and the GOP abandoned conservatism and that is why we got stuck with liberal a-holes like Pelosi and Reid, along with the socialist Obama.

Those who support the liberal Scott Brown are also abandoning conservatism.

Please spare us your BS. Your posting history is interesting in that you constantly tell people not to vote and let the Rats win. Why is someone who lives in Colorado Springs telling Massachusetts conservative voters to stay home?

Truth is the die hard conservatives refused to vote for any candidate but their perfect one after they lost the primary therefore the democrats, with Soros money/ACORN finis, took the house and the Senate got control of the speaker and majority leader and Bush was not able to get his agenda through.

Why is someone living in Pennsylvania telling anyone, anything, at anytime!

If you want satisfaction, go yell at John Murtha. LOL
