First reports had China, France, and Canada sending material and people. I believe this was for search and rescue (dogs, infrared, etc.) and not food or clothing. And if Fox was correct, China was on the ground less than 24 hours after the quake.
I’m sure it will be several days, if not weeks, before it is known what is needed from the world community (hate that term) and the best way to put it into action.
Cholera will be the biggest problem.
Clean uncontaminated water is what they will need.
If we don’t see an outbreak it will be a miracle.
Still don’t think they are capable of burying
this many so fast. Not to mention all the unrecovered
ones. This is going to get FAR uglier
than Katrina.
I am amazed at the pictures of the Haitian people moving people in wheelbarrows down the streets almost 3 days without food and water. They are still digging and still helping each other in 90+ degree heat.
I am not sure I could do the same under similar circumstances.
Amazing people.
I dunno’bout 40k, but some are being buried. It would make sense to at least photograph the ones being collected for burial.

There’s a video and article on Haiti’s fromer Pres. Aristird wanting to go back to Haiti and assume the reins, over on CNN. He is one evil man and responsible for alot of Haiti’s issues..He is Voodoo high priest and the one who declared it their national religion. He was ousted in 04 and in exile in Johannasburg Africa.
This concerns me as Clinton was the one who supported him going back into office once they had ousted him before. Now with Clinton and Bush appointed to Haiti to assist..this could happen again and Aristurd is only interested because of the money flow tha will be available...he stole most of it before and is said to be a billion or more. He’s the one speaking on the video. Vile and evil man!
I can’t get the article here and post..maybe someone else can.
Duvalier was vile and evil. I am curious how Aristide was in your opinion.
1. Do dead bodies cause epidemics?
No. The bodies of people who have died in a disaster do not cause epidemics. In a disaster, people die as a result of injury, drowning or fire. They are not likely to have epidemic-causing diseases such as cholera, typhoid, malaria or plague when they die. In most cases, those who have survived are more likely to be spreading diseases.
5. Local officials and journalists say there is a risk of disease from dead bodies. Are they correct?
No. Many professionals and journalists misunderstand the risk from dead bodies after a disaster. Even health workers are often misinformed, and contribute to the spread of rumours.
1. How urgent is the collection of dead bodies?
Collecting bodies is not the most urgent task after a disaster. The priority is to care for the living. Dead bodies cause no significant public health risk. Nevertheless, one should collect bodies as soon as possible and take them away for identification.

wrong one...I am simply not good at this..so you’ll have to scroll down to his video Aristird
Reports from the airport early on showed planes from all over on the ramps.
The real problem is going to be trying to organize an adhoc effort. That was a major problem at Katrina as well. People loaded up trailer loads of stuff that basically rotted in the fields where it was dumped. Then they get pissed when told their effort was wasted.
