This is what I wrote in a similar thread the other day, so this is not directed at you, CharlesWayneCT, so I hope you don’t take it that way.

Someone had mentioned that Scott Brown had the slight smell of a RINO...

You would think the slight smell of RINO would be completely overpowered by the stench and reek of liberal decay that darkens the air and makes your eyes water from Coakley.

People need to give this RINO stuff a rest, especially those of you who don’t live in this state. If we can get a senatorial candidate elected in Massachusetts who will vote 90-95% conservative rather than one who is guaranteed to vote 100% liberal NO MATTER HOW RADICAL AND LEFT THE AGENDA, you would think even a fool could make that choice.

Apparently a lot of people have “principles” and would rather see someone like Coakley elected. Scott Brown had come out against socialized health care and global warming, and at least understands that it is the Taliban killing our men in Afghanistan and why we are there.

Screw anti-RINO principles. We have to fight to avoid socialized health care and cap and tax, two of the most immediate threats to our way of life.

If I sound angry, it is because I am.

People bitch and moan about how terrible the politicians are from Massachusetts, and rightfully so, but then when a candidate appears who isn’t RONALD EFFING REAGAN, we have to hear how he shouldn’t be respected, supported or elected even when running against a radical liberal dimwit ideologue like Coakley because he isn’t the mirror image of Reagan. I am sick and damned tired of it.

I have lived in Massachusetts since my dad retired from the Navy, except for my time I spent in the military myself. I have always had to live under the thumb of ultra-liberal Democrats for nearly my entire adult life, and reconcile myself with the FACT that I have NO representation in Washington that reflects MY values, and that my conservative vote for national candidates EVERY SINGLE YEAR is simply pissing in the wind, but I go faithfully and do it anyway.

This candidate has a chance. He has pretty much done it without the national support of the despicable RNC or politicians at the national level, and to a small degree I understand that. Politicians don’t want to be seen associating with a sure loser, which is what every conservative candidate is up here in this corrupt political machine. But what rankles me even worse, I come on Free Republic and hear people tearing him down on here. Sure, it is better now because people can see the candidate has a fighting chance, but we (and the RNC) should have been supporting this candidate from day one with vocal public support and money, neither of which was forthcoming until only recently.

I suggest jettisoning your anti-RINO principles for what it takes to defeat this radical, liberal Marxist agenda in Washington before it is too late. And that involves wholeheartedly supporting a candidate like Scott Brown. If you don’t, you will have your principles, and you can eat those principles with your boiled wool overcoats and shoe leather, if you can find any fuel to heat water to boil them in.

AMEN BROTHER!

I grew up in the land of the Kennedys, and am now living in the Bay Air-head area. Better weather, same crappy politics.

We, too, had a chance to put a Republican in office in a recent special election, but the "purists" threw him under the bus, and we ended up with a career politician who was even MORE of a moon-bat than the Congress-critter he replaced.
