Why isn’t the UN distributing the food. I didn’t read anywhere in the article about any distribution, only how difficult it is to get it to outlying areas. Why not feed the people in the immediate vicinity and as aid comes in, reach the other people, rather than withold it. Maybe I’m missing something here.

You're not missing anything. Neither Obama or the UN could manage a cleanup on aisle 5.

My guess is the delay is due to large number of UN officials who were killed or injured in the quake. The UN is a very top down organization and when a few higher ups are missing the whole system stops.

Not missing a thing, it’s the USELESS UN for ya. Dissolve the UN already! The world would be better off. All that money that goes into that corrupt, worthless UN would free up more for the poor! parasites....
