Maryland’s 1st congressional district is the main race to watch here.
Conservative Republican Andy Harris will be facing the incumbent dem Kratovil in a rematch of a very close race in 2008.
This race is important as Kratovil is one of of the most vulnerable dems in the nation according to most election sites.
The wild card in this race will be if state sen Pipkin challenges Harris again for the GOP nomination.
In the previous election, incumbent RINO Gilcrest was defeated by the conservative Harris. Harris was supported by most Republican office holders in the state including former (R) Gov. Bob Ehrlich. Mike Steele endorsed the RINO Gilcrest. Just before the closing date to declare for the office, State sen Pipkin jumped into the race which led many to believe there was a back room deal to split the conservative vote to help the rino. Harsis won the GOP nomination anyway.
Rino Gilcrest then pulled a “Scuzzyfavor”(NY 23rd) and endorsed the democrat Kratovil in the general election and, combined with the Obama coattails, led to a very close dem victory.

Charles Lollar - he needs all the help he can get - he's taking on Steny Hoyer in the 5th district but given the chance and the exposure he could certainly pull it off!! He has the IT factor and he's the most real, down-to-earth person I've met in politics and personally know. He just spoke at the March on Annapolis last night and fired up the crowd. Here's his website and here's a little bio/pic of him! http://www.lollarforcongress.com/index.php/home
Charles Lollar is a concerned citizen, taxpayer, hard working business executive, Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and most importantly a father of four and a devoted husband. Charles was born in Toppenish, Washington. A sleepy western town boasting a diverse mix of cultures. His father, a tax consultant, instilled in him an old fashioned work ethic while his mother, a librarian, taught him how to be compassionate and caring for his fellow man. Two principles which would have a huge impact on his future. At the age of 13 Charles delivered newspapers before going to school every morning. He worked his way through both high school and college by bagging groceries, stocking shelves, and selling items door-to-door. After attending McEachern High School, Charles earned an AA degree from Emory University, a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science from Kennesaw University and an MBA from Regent University. Not surprisingly, his get up and go attitude, willingness to work hard and desire to excel in service to others led him to join the one organization that would enable him to achieve all of the above, the United States Marine Corps. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he was on active duty in Kosovo. During his time in the Marines, he graduated from Officer Candidate School and earned several medals and decorations including: the Kosovo Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon, and Joint Meritorious Unit Award. Presently, Charles serves as a Major in the Marine Corps Reserves where he is an intelligence officer. Professionally Charles is the General Manager for Cintas, a facility services corporation with over 23 million dollars in sales. He oversees 170 employees at their Prince Georges County, Md. facility, a role which has enabled him to interact extensively with the diverse and varied communities of Anne Arrundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince Georges, and St. Marys County. Never one to ask of others what he would not do himself, Charles has been active in numerous community organizations. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and is also a member of the DC Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of both Leadership Maryland and Leadership Prince Georges County. Charles also served as the Chairman of the Charles County Republican Central Committee and the Chairman of the Maryland GOP Taxpayers Commission where he fought to protect the interests of Maryland taxpayers. Charles and his wife, Rosha, have been married for sixteen years and reside in Charles County, Md. They are the proud parents of four daughters ranging in age from eleven to fifteen years old. Charles and his family are active members of Trinity Christian Center.
