CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA is investigating how a bag of cocaine got into the hangar that houses space shuttle Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
NASA spokesman Allard Beutel said Thursday that the bag contained a tiny amount of the illegal substance. It was found by a worker in a secure part of the hangar that is accessible by about 200 NASA employees and contractors.
NASA is drug testing and interviewing workers, as well as using drug-sniffing dogs.

It's sad to see, cocaine in secure areas and cooking the books on global warming.
The wonderful Nasa of my youth is no more.

The wonderful Nasa of my youth is no more. Of mine too. I was working there in the early 70s (Shuttle project) the day one of the researchers remarked gloomily to me that NASA had just reached a milestone -- one administrator for each researcher.

When my brother had a coke problem in the 80’s, his supplier was a NASA guy. I don’t think NASA was/is the problem however. Just a coincident with regards to my brother. Who, by the way, has been drug/alcohol free for more than 20 yrs.
