The event Coakley is talking about "standing out in the cold" was the outdoor NHL game held at Fenway in the past month or so.
So, she dissed the Red Sox location AND Boston Bruins fans.
Yes. Also, more generically, she comes off as a wimp by saying it’s icky-poo to stand in the cold for a span of time.
Do you really think your average Massachusetts resident is that much of a puss, male or female?
This isn’t a “woman thing.” Voters overwhelmingly have no problem with a woman in the Senate, but they don’t want a wimp. (She should at least ACT LIKE she is tough.)
Heck, even I love Fenway Park and I am a native born Texan. It’s a park where you are not a mile and a half from the players. At the Ranger’s Park in Arlington,TX, only the fat cats can get that close.
Insulting the Sox and the Bruins (and their fans) in a single sentence? Yeah, that’s a winning political strategy. Hope it’s not too late for Brown to cut an ad with her comments, and maybe another one with Curt Schilling publicly endorsing him.
One more thing...any chance someone from Fox News could ask Coakley to name her favorite Red Sox and Bruins players of all time? Most of the pols in Boston make a big deal out of claiming Red Sox allegiance, but I’m guessing Coakley couldn’t tell Bobby Orr from Jim Rice or Larry Bird.
Might just be the last nail in her coffin.
Now if Coakley will just imitate Hillary and claim to be a lifelong Yankees fan....
