And if I remember things right, Ritters' change of heart came just after he "toured" the "childrens prison" in Iraq. Speculation was he got to sample the wares and Iraq then had blackmail material.

I think we see now that this was a very possible scenario.

I’m almost positive that is what happened. If he’s the kid that will look for it, then he’s the kind that will accept it is offered. All Uday had to do was tell a little girl to go seduce him and they have instant blackmail.
