I think you are on the right track but not there yet...Republicans are responsible at the minimum for democrats getting power... but that R loss is finally leading to a backlash against democrats(took too long) ...but Republicans show no signs of leadership capability even now, just able to take advantage of the current backlash.
Sure...DC needs a good clean up, but who's responsible? There's a tendency to blame DC for everything. I think a lot of the blame goes to the people. Why didn't they get of their butts earlier, attend townhall en masse and get vocal about corruption years ago? They were too comfortable in front of the boob tube and wanted DC pols to do it all for them.
