Exactly. I would rather see the military and NGOs give direct aid to the people. At least we then know or have more hope that our tax dollars are not ending up in the hands of criminals. I don’t know about NGO workers, but I bet the U.S. Marines don’t have to grease the palms of any local thugs in order to do their work.
I dunno. There was that time we sent troops, the thugs showed up at the dock with guns, and we left.
