"CPAC is my kind of people...I'm truly honored and flattered to be able to speak at CPAC as their keynote speaker on February 20th" -- Glenn Beck, 1/13/10
Glenn Beck will be Closing Keynote Speaker at CPAC 2010!
Glenn Beck is the Keynote Speaker at CPAC 2010 (YouTube video runs 2:41 minutes)
Also...
I don’t really understand the “taken over” comment. Weren’t they always connected to the Mormon church in some way?
Given that Mormons are overwhelmingly conservative, it would not be surprising to find some involved in JBS.
For the record, I’m not a fan of JBS, but I’m not seeking to avoid everything they might spend money on either.
Just like I’m no fan of the Log Cabin Republicans, but I won’t let their giving patterns dictate what I support and don’t support.
Is that correct? Was FR a sponsor or exhibitor in 2009? 2008? 2007? When was the last time FR had a presence at CPAC? Doesn't there need to be evidence of previous support in order to initiate a boycott?
You're welcome, Fiji Hill. :o)
Apparently a group from FR attends yearly but not this year. I have never gotten to go.
Why did you feel the great need to include the word "Mormon" in your post?
The confirmed list is a bit shorter than the “invited” list shown at the link:
Hon. John Ashcroft*, Glenn Beck*, Amb. John Bolton*,
(Sen. John Barrasso,)
Andrew Breitbart*, Herman Cain*, Tucker Carlson*, Ann Coulter*;
(Sen. Tom Coburn,) (Sen. Jim DeMint,)
Hon. Newt Gingrich*, Doug Hoffman*,
(Gov. Bobby Jindal,)
David Keene*, Wayne LaPierre*,
(Rush Limbaugh,) (Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell,)
Rep. Ron Paul*, Gov. Tim Pawlenty*,
(Gov. Rick Perry,)
Hon. Mitt Romney*, Hon. Marco Rubio*, Hon. Rick Santorum*, and many more!
You do know Keene is the Chairman/Organizer and a longtime RINO supporter - from Specter to Myth Romney (the leading RINO candidate for 2012). Add the gay-proud deviants....thanks, but NO THANKS!
Who are the people in this group from FR? Has the group's yearly attendance been sponsored by FR until this year?
Yup and yup. I can't wait to see Glenn Beck in person next month at CPAC. I will do my best to sit near the front row as I did for Rush Limbaugh's great CPAC speech last year.
The misinformation about CPAC from FReepers on multiple threads who have never or rarely attended CPAC is staggering to me.
I didn’t pay much attention cause I couldn’t go. I’ve seen pics of Freepers in attendance with Jim and some speakers. And the trip was organized on FR. But like I said, there was no chance that I could go so I didn’t check details.
I'm aware of JimRob's boycott of CPAC 2010, and I posted on that thread that I respectfully disagree.
Here's the lists of CPAC 2010 cosponsors and exhibitors, which are overwhelmingly conservative:
As someone who has attended the 5 of the past six CPAC, I gently suggest that you get your facts in order before making any more erroneous statements.
I'm still waiting to hear all about the many times you've actually attended CPAC and where you base your opinions of CPAC from...
Excuse me but I saw that Freepers co-ordinated on here to stay at the same hotels etc. And to “hook up”. You didn’t?
Do you know the story of the camels nose?
One does NOT need to attend CPAC to know the organizer is a RINO supporter and is reaching out to perverted, homosexual groups.
Sheeesh, buy a clue!
I ask you again--how does one boycott a function that one didn't sponsor or attend in the first place?
It wasn't a great need. Just caught my attention because both Beck and Romney are Mormons and 2 years ago Romney gave the closing speech, IIRC. Face it. There are good Mormons and bad Mormon's. Just as there are good Jews and Muslims, and bad Jews and Muslims. Its not a religious thing, its just a fact of life. If that bothers you, so be it.
On most issues Beck is okay by me. He is a libertarian, but he's not an unprincipled, two-faced, life long liberal, pro-abortion statist like Romney.
This year CPAC is going all out and teaming up with the homosexual group GOProud and the conspiracy paranoiac group, the John Birch Society. Sounds like a good time for all. All except real conservatives that is.
!!!!!!
Oh yes! Get good seats again!
I always try to catch the speeches on C-SPAN. Rush was fabulous last year. Glenn Beck ought to rock the house this year.
You’ll have to ask JimRob. I already told you that I could never afford to go.
