The D.C. Chapter pooled their pennies and put together a booth in 2005. Five years later, you want to call this year a boycott? LOL!

I don’t think you can throw stones at conservatives equating this event as a RINO gathering because Palin will be a no show. Not when you behavior similiarly with a knee jerk response that the furor is all related to her.

It has quite clearly been stated on this thread a number of Freepers have an issue with those sponsering this event as well as with a suspicion Keene is selling his “opinion” and influence to the highest bidder.

I do agree that some Freepers the moment they heard palin wouldn’t attend did assume it was all “RINO’s” in attendance. This isn’t the opinion of all. Nor is it why Robinson is bycotting the event.

I suspect, however, if Sarah Palin had chosen to attend CPAC, we would have heard a lot less about these particular sponsors of CPAC...magritte

Nice to see that conservatism is unified, all on the same page, focused on November 2010 elections, etc.

Not going to let outsiders stir up problems, split us, blur the focus, etc.

Not going to be the circular firing squad bunch, this time around.

..."FReeping" those paper ballots...

"FReeping" is a term limited to conservative votes or feedback - not RINO.

Too many snakes in the conservative grass for that to happen.

I’m certain we are all very pleased you have wonderful memories of CPAC’s past, but perhaps you could drop your nostalgia a moment, and address this coming CPAC, and the problem seen by many with the acceptance by Keene of sponsorship by the John Birch Society, and GOPROUD, an activist homosexual organization.

It seems to me that if they sponsored previous CPAC meetings we would have heard something more about that.

Apparently this years acceptance of such sponsorship is unique to the CPAC experience, and isn’t welcomed by many Conservatives.

If you are simply a participant of CPAC, and looking forward to the party then I understand should you be reluctant to address the issues mentioned.

It seems to me that if they sponsored previous CPAC meetings we would have heard something more about that.

Seems to me that if Sarah Palin, Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson (apparently the only "acceptable" conservatives these days) were to be CPAC's keynote speaker, all would be forgiven and most of the malcontents on this thread would simply look the other way regarding a couple of CPAC's sponsors.

Apparently you haven't seen the FULL list of sponsors and exhibitors?

CPAC 2010 Cosponsors

CPAC 2010 Exhibitors

If you are simply a participant of CPAC, and looking forward to the party then I understand should you be reluctant to address the issues mentioned.

The fact that you refer to CPAC as "nostalgic" and a "party" tells me you have no idea what CPAC is all about, and thus don't know what you're talking about.

You MUST be a liberal (and/or a homosexual supporter) with your comment.

One does NOT need to attend CPAC to know the organizer is a RINO supporter and is reaching out to perverted, homosexual groups.

Sheeesh, buy a clue!

In post #73, I simply explained my experiences at CPAC over the past 7 years. I asked you to tell me where you're getting your vast first-hand (mis)information about CPAC and I provided you with links for the CPAC 2010 Cosponsors and Exhibitors.

You can't answer me, so you descend into personal attacks against me: "You MUST be a liberal and/or a homosexual supporter".

Unbelievable.

Well, at least that great unprincipled, two-faced, life long liberal and Mormon, Willard “Myth” Romney, won't be closing CPAC.

Just caught my attention because both Beck and Romney are Mormons

Oh, I get it now.

I guess I just found it interesting how you included the word "Mormon" with all those other negative labels: "great unprincipled, two-faced, life long liberal and Mormon..."

And don't call me a Myth Romney supporter either, because I'm not.

I dabbled very briefly years ago with JBS. I found them to be good people, basically right on almost all specific policy issues....but couldn’t get past their conspiratorialist obsession with “Insiders” and the CFR.

This Mormon thing is a new on me, though...do you have any sources you can point to for this?

Hank

I always try to catch the speeches on C-SPAN. Rush was fabulous last year. Glenn Beck ought to rock the house this year.

Yes, it's always a good idea to check C-SPAN's schedule during CPAC... they often show the major speeches.

However, what you see on C-SPAN is merely the tip of the iceberg. There are 3 days chock-full of conservative panels, book signings, speeches, break-out sessions, conservative film premieres and showings, fantastic exhibitors and a great lineup on conservative talk show hosts on "Radio Row".

Here's the CPAC 2010 agenda, but it is usually finalized at the last minute:

No.

You confuse CPAC with the GOP. Arnold Schwarzenneger (R-Austria, Mexifornia) and Emperor Mike Bloomberg (R-________ I’ll buy your State if you don’t shut up) are not invited.

They have principles.

"By all means I think we should do our best to divide up the conservative movement going into the 2010 elections. We should chase away all the conservatives we disagree with, because god knows we don’t need conservatives to vote for our candidates either."

Well said. Why does religion, or other such matters have to be so important? If people advocate less government, believe in the original intent of the US Constitution/Bill of Rights, and favor lower taxes, they should all be on the same team. Matters of religion will take care of themselves if such ideals are stood for. I'm not a 'religious' person, but I probably agree with religious folks 75% of the time when it comes to who I'd like to see in office.
