Here in CA, you are better off carrying a firearm. Carrying a firearm without a permit is generally a misdemeanor (with some exceptions)(PC 12021) Carrying a nightstick, billyclub, etc. is a felony. (PC 12020)
Personally, I think we need to provide a service escorting people to polling places if this crap comes up again.
Thanks, I had CA in mind because I was born and raised there, brass knuckles and some knives fall in the same category as nightsticks as well.
