The rough-and-tumble world of politics was on full display Tuesday night when a man believed to be longtime Democratic strategist Michael Meehan was caught on videotape shoving a reporter for the Weekly Standard into a metal railing, reportedly giving him a large tear in his pants.

The incident occurred outside a fundraiser for Martha Coakley, the Democratic candidate in a competitive race to fill the seat of the late Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Weekly Standard reporter John McCormack, in his account of the incident published on the conservative magazine's Web site, wrote that he had been trying to ask Coakley about a remark she'd made in a debate with Scott Brown, her Republican opponent, in which she said there are no terrorists in Afghanistan and they're all in Yemen.

McCormack said Coakley blew him off, and then he followed her for a few blocks until he was shoved by a man he believes was Meehan, who is working with the Coakley campaign.

"I ended up on the sidewalk. I was fine," McCormack wrote in the Weekly Standard. "He helped me up from the ground, but kept pushing up against me, blocking my path toward Coakley down the street."

When McCormack asked the man whom he worked for, he replied, "I work for me," demanding to see McCormack's credentials on a public street. After McCormack showed him his ID, he said he met up with Coakley halfway down the block, asking her question that she declined to answer.

Coakley staff members told McCormack they didn't know the identity of the man.

Meehan could not immediately be reached for comment.

This incident may be the backbreaker and Brown wins by 10 points. My 88-year-old Mom thinks she’s terrible and hates the health-care bill. Her heroes are Al Smith, Roosevelt and JFK. She may or may not vote for Brown, her first Republican ever if she does, but she won’t vote for Coakley, Patrick or Obama.

She may or may not vote for Brown, her first Republican ever if she does, but she won’t vote for Coakley, Patrick or Obama.

I hope & pray that this will be the backbreaker for Coakley to go down in a horrendous defeat to Brown.

And not to be disrespectful to your 88 yr old mother, but what is it with demoRATs who will NEVER NEVER NEVER vote against the most evil, corrupt party in the U.S. or their commie pigs that keep getting elected & re-elected to office. Liberalism/ slash Socialism, is without a doubt a mental disorder, genetic deficiency. My boss is a Phd from U-W Madison, rancid, rank liberal demoRAT, and he actually thinks its funny when demoRATs win corrupted elections like Franken did in MN, or his kids voted at U-W Madison and then filled out absentee ballots to vote again in MN. And that 0bozo is leading this country on the right path. There are no dumber people in the universe than those who vote for demoRATs or even when they refuse to vote against the socialist rat bastards, but will still not pull the lever for a candidate (conservative or Republican) that at least is trying to steer the country away from being destroyed.

Liberals will vote for politicians (like 0bozo or Coakley) who love to kill babies, protect terrorists, rapists & killers, love homos & sexual perverts of any sort, hate anything good or Christian about America. 0bozo could stand up on stage on national TV, defecate on stage, pull out a gun and kill 15 people, and he would STILL get 48% of the votes in America. We have a sick, demented voting class to be sure!!!
