Defying recent voting trends that saw several Northern Virginia Republicans win big in November, Del. David W. Marsden (D-Fairfax) narrowly won a special election Tuesday night to represent a broad swath of southwestern Fairfax County in the Virginia Senate....
With all 39 precincts counted just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Marsden led Hunt by 317 votes out of 23,569 votes cast. In Fairfax County, a recount requires less than a 1 percent difference and unofficial results from Tuesday night indicate the 37th vote fell just outside of that margin. Marsden won big in Burke and Fairfax Station and among absentee voters. It was the Democrat's 405-vote advantage among absentee voters, to observers, was the difference maker, said Isaac Wood, assistant communications director for the University of Virginia's Center for Politics....
Republicans were left scrambling late Tuesday to figure out what happened....

After conceding, Hunt praised Democrats for waging "an incredible get-out-the-vote campaign" and targeting absentee voters, who historically have swung for Republicans.
"It shows a certain degree of tactical capability on their part, and we ran a very, very close race," Hunt said.
I’m surprised it was even close in Northern Virginia.
Read 'Rat vote fraud.....
The fact less than 24K voters came out in a county as large as this tells the story. Nobody cared. It would have been a different story if it were a US Senate seat.
Sure, but if the roles were reversed the loser (Rat) would be claiming the election was “stolen”.
Ah, little stevie-b celebrating a democrat victory.There’s a stunner.
How many government employees in that district?
(and how much has that number gone up in the past 10 months?)
With all 39 precincts counted just before 9 p.m. Wednesday
Is this a prediction? Or, is Virginia in a new time zone? Here in Michigan it is only 9:45AM Wednesday. I thought we were in the same time zone.
“Republicans were left scrambling late Tuesday to figure out what happened....”
Maybe there were no Republicans, maybe they were RINOs. Or maybe Virginians want to suck on the public teat just like the rest of the country.
And THAT is where the country is rotting from. When people "don't care" at the local level.

Sad, but true.
Is this true? Are you celebrating the Rat victory?
exactly
Do you believe every rumor somebody posts on FR?
RECOUNT!!!
Absentee voters. I wonder how many of them would be surprised to learn that they had voted??!! Will republicans demand signatures be checked and compared?? Yeah. Sure.
anytime the Democrat wins by 500 votes or less, you have to suspect ACORN and some type of fraud
