Guess VA is not on the Tea Party roll.
Shame.

You mean a Democrat won an election in Fairfax County?

Was this an upset, like the story said? What happened?
To: hinckley buzzard
Fairfax County is a liberal suburb of Washington, DC. Most of its residents work for the government. So, I don’t consider this an upset.

Democrats control Fairfax County and this guy eeks one out. I wouldn’t be too damn happy Steve.

Why was it an upset? Hunt wasn't the incumbent.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see any gloating on his part. The title is the actual title of the article, he didn’t insert any commentary there or in the body of his post. Seems like a straightforward post on a relevant political event; what am I missing?

Sure, stunning upset. Just like it will be a stunning upset if Coakley eeks it out in Mass.

Because the left always does this. They have to have someone counter Scott Brown who is a conservative. It’s one of their games and he most likely wasn’t elected legally.

From what I understand (at least from early reports last night), Marsden had a 2-1 advantage in absentee ballots.
But this shocked even some of the lefty bloggers.

Only 18% of the register voters came out to vote.

Funny, the vote was almost 50/50, but the absentee ballots went 2-to-1 for Marsden (800 to 394) which was the margin of victory.
That really stinks.

Wonder if the Hunt guy ran a lackluster campaign or if there's nothing going on there locally to bring the more than 100,000 registered voters who didn't bother to vote out to vote. They certainly had little problem coming out for McDonnell. The Repubs just can't ever seem to win these close elections with these stinkin' Rats.
