I get it and have for several years now. It wasn’t until I was forced into a civil dispute that ended up in court. My greatest revelation was the judicial system was not about right and wrong, it is about which side promises to pay the “system” the most for a positive outcome for their case. Even before the case was decided, the Judge asked each side what their fees were for the case. It blew by me at first but I figured it out in discovery and presentaion of the case.

DC is just the same deal, somewhat. My best analogy is they are both the same. It is just a good ole boyz system for attorneys who couldn’t figure out a way to fleece you in a court room. Ironically enough, when I was on a project for the rail lines in DC, I learned the two party offices were .22 miles walking distance from each other but at one time were in two different wings of the same building. Nuff said.
