Do you really believe that it serves anybody to elevate politicians of any particular race and the process of Affirmative Action to the level of sanctified Sacred Cow status in American politics?
Once you set the precedent that saying anything that could be interpreted as "racially insensitive" to anybody is grounds for resignation, "What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander."
At that point, expect the Race Cards to be flying, like Peyton Manning passes, every time that anybody says anything about Democrat black politicians. (Republican black politicians will still be fair game for the vilest of insults since, by Politically Correct definition, they are "Uncle Toms".)
Besides, Reid has become the politician that Americans love to hate. We want him to stay in the Senate.
