Alternately, we could be at the end of the current interglacial where we can optimistically expect temperatures to drop by 6° ~ 10°C in 20 years and stay that way for 100,000 years.

Sooner or later that is going to happen...

The fact is typical interglacial periods are around 11,000 years if I remember correctly and we are past that point already...

And it certainly appears the sun may have entered a new lower energy state. Still very few sun spots...
