I had this vision of the libs running around like that stupid Robby the Robot from Lost in Space

Robby wasn't in Lost in Space, but I agree with your point (Lost in Space's robot was named "Robot" or "Robot B-9").

Wow, I really enjoyed that program. I wish they'd put it back on the air so I can dvr it for the kids.

Sorry about nit-picking.

No problem. Did he run around yelling and waving his arms?
But hey you got the meaning, so thats good.
Wasn’t it the same robot in several programs?
LiS is in reruns sometimes on TVLand.
Ok, really what show was he called Robby?

From Wikipoo

The Robot: The Robot is a Model B-9, Class M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot, which had no given name. Although a machine endowed with superhuman strength and futuristic weaponry, he often displayed human characteristics such as laughter, sadness, and mockery as well as singing and playing the guitar. The Robot was performed by Bob May in a prop costume built by Bob Stewart. The voice was dubbed by Dick Tufeld, who was also the series’ narrator. The Robot was designed by Robert Kinoshita, whose other cybernetic claim to fame is as the designer of Forbidden Planet’s Robby the Robot. Robby appears in LIS #20 “War of the Robots”, and the first episode of season three; “Condemmed of space”.

Having said that, I don’t recall him being called anything other than Robbie. The Forbidden Planet is a classic, I first saw it in 1956.

You can find “Lost in Space” episodes on iTunes for a couple of bucks. It was one of my favorite shows. I also loved “It’s About Time.”
