Publishers Weekly, 11/25/2009
With all the interest in just how well Sarah Palins Going Rogue has done since it was released November 17, HarperCollins has confirmed reports that the book sold 700,000 copies in its first week on sale.
Nielsen BookScan reported this morning that units sold through stores that report figures to its service sold 469,000 copies.
BookScan estimates that it covers about 75% of book sales and one outlet that does not report to the company is Wal Mart which used Rogue has one of its loss leaders which no doubt drove sales at the chain.
HC has 2.5 million copies of Rogue in print after nine trips to press.

“St. Martins will print 200,000 copies of Romneys book, far less than HarperCollinss 1.5 million-copy first printing of Palins Going Rogue, which reportedly sold 1 million copies within its first two weeks. Romney has not disclosed the amount of his advance, but a spokesman says he will contribute his earnings to a charity he has yet to name.”
