I am going to try and say this as nicely as possible, You Ms. Ponder, are an as much a bigot against Mormons as Reid is against blacks. Reids racism has NOTHING to do with his being Mormon, and everything to do with his being a racist of his own accord. I am a Mormon woman with an adopted African American child, who I love and cherish as much as my adopted white children. I know at least ten families just in my white Mormon acquaintances who have adopted African American children.
Saying that Mormons are racists because of some events in our history is like saying all Democrats are racists because the majority of early democrats were racists. I agree that Reid should be removed as Majority leader, but not because he is Mormon but because he is an arrogant, elitist jerk.
Do you mean way back in history in 1978, when we were talking about when the next Star Wars movie would come out?
I don’t believe that modern Mormonism teaches racism, or modern Mormons are any more racist than anyone else.
However, since its foundational “prophets” such as Smith and Young, and most subsequent “prophets” (until relatively recently) taught that racism was inherent to the faith, and it has now been corrected by more enlightened, modern, Mormons, it demonstrates that Mormonism is a false religion, founded by men who frauds and were not called by God. If God had called them and spoken through them, they would not have preached such an abomoniation, that later needed to be corrected.
Turning away from its racist roots makes Mormonism a nobler false religion, but is further proof that it is false.

May I ask when you adopted this child? The reason I ask is, I have a friend (LDS) who adopted a couple of Guatemalan children 5 years ago, and when the went to the temple to have the children sealed to them, the officiator told her that she should watch them closely since they would become whiter and whiter. Needless to say, she was shocked.
